There are days when you just need to wrap yourself in a blanket, make a warm drink, and color something that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. In this article you'll find the list of coloring books in Lake that I reach for on exactly those days. Whether it's a rainy afternoon, a slow Sunday morning, or just a moment where the world feels a bit too loud, these books always deliver.
TL;DR: Here are my eight favorite cozy coloring books in Lake:
- Moka's Adventure by Gabriela Castro,
- Belly Bean Tales by Belly Bean Co,
- Sweet Japan by Yetitia Illustration,
- Meadowland by Nina Štajner,
- Almost Too Cute to Eat by Kat Uno,
- Bunny & Besties by Color with Ivy,
- The Grunglins by Johanna Forster,
- Cozy Daydreams by Sara Kajba.
The Grunglins by Johanna Forster
I remember the first time I came across Johanna's art and saw the Grunglins. I just need to say it: they are the most adorable things. There is no debate. Coloring this book feels like settling into the coziest fall afternoon, even if it's the middle of July. Johanna's style is so original and the characters have so much personality that every drawing feels like a little story. If you haven't colored this one yet, please do yourself a favor.

Belly Bean Tales by Belly Bean Co
If you spend any time in coloring subreddits (and I know you do), you've definitely seen this one. Belly Bean Tales is the bold, easy coloring style that the community absolutely cannot stop coloring, and for good reason. The Belly Bean crew also makes physical books, but I'm so happy they brought this to Lake because coloring this style digitally just feels so satisfying. It's one of those books you pick up without overthinking and somehow end up coloring for an hour. Perfect for when you want cozy without commitment.

Sweet Japan by Yetitia Illustration
Japan plus cute illustrations? Sign me up every single time. I'm always drawn to anything related to Japanese culture, but what makes Sweet Japan special is how it captures all the sweetest, most heartwarming parts of it. The illustrations feel like a love letter to the cozier side of Japan, the kind of scenes that make you want to slow down, sip something warm, and just color. It's soft, it's charming, and it's very hard to put down.
Meadowland by Nina Štajner
This is Nina's third book in Lake, and I have to say, it's currently my favorite of the three. The animals in Meadowland are always in the most wonderfully cozy situations, and I could spend hours just browsing the drawings before I even start coloring. My absolute favorites? The one where the characters are sleeping tucked into the flowers, and the one where they're using leaves as umbrellas instead of actual umbrellas. How cute is that?! Nina has such a gentle, whimsical style and this book is the coziest expression of it yet.

Almost Too Cute to Eat by Kat Uno
The title really does say it all. This book is cute, it's cozy, and it gives you so much freedom to play with color. There's something really fun about coloring food illustrations because you can follow what things actually look like, or you can go completely rogue and make everything pastel purple. Either way, you win. I love sitting with this one and just imagining the different flavors as I color. It's a small, lovely thing and it makes me very happy.
Moka's Adventure by Gabriela Castro
Meet Moka, a little bear who is entirely a product of Gabriela Castro's imagination, and one of the most charming characters I've ever colored. The concept is so sweet: Moka does something different each month, and I've given myself a personal challenge to color one drawing per month that matches what's happening in Moka's world. It keeps me coming back regularly and makes the book feel almost like a little ritual. It's the kind of cozy that's also quietly motivating, and I love it for that.

Bunny & Besties by Color with Ivy
This book gives me inspiration for things I should actually be doing with my friends, which is really wholesome. I have such a specific memory of the day this book came out: I was under a cozy blanket with a cup of tea, coloring the cute characters as soon as it dropped. It was one of those perfect little coloring moments that you don't plan but somehow end up remembering. Bunny & Besties is super cute, super fun, and has a warmth to it that just sticks with you.
Cozy Daydreams by Sara Kajba
This book has been in Lake for a while now, and what I love most about it is seeing how many different versions of the same drawing exist out in the world. People really love coloring this one, and the variety is just stunning. Same drawing, completely different color choices, completely different mood. It's such a good reminder that coloring is genuinely a form of creative expression. Here's an example of the same drawing colored by my colleagues:
