Hello April - Earth Month! 🌍
This is the time of year when, at least in our corner of the world, spring arrives in full bloom. The sun lingers a little longer, birds fill the morning with song, and everything around you seems to bloom with renewed energy. If you're anything like me, this is the season that makes you fall in love with life all over again.
On April 22nd we celebrate Earth Day - the most widely recognized environmental awareness day in the world. First observed over 50 years ago, Earth Day is now celebrated in more than 190 countries. Its mission is simple and urgent: inspire action to protect our planet.
Whether you're already convinced or just looking for a reason to slow down and create something beautiful, here's my personal selection of coloring books in Lake that celebrate the Earth, nature, and life. There are plenty to discover (try searching for nature, animals, plants, or wildlife), but these are the ones I'd recommend starting with.
Journey into Nature by Adrien Gaudin Open in Lake →
Journey into Nature is not the only book by the talented Adrien Gaudin in our app, but it's the one that stole my heart. I'm from Slovenia, where mountains are part of everyday life - and the coloring pages in this book capture the quiet beauty of mountain landscapes, forest paths, and crystal-clear waters. The kind of scenes that make you want to lace up your hiking boots and head outside. This book reminds me to step outside more often and appreciate the nature that's right on my doorstep.

Wild Life by Mr. Lemonade Open in Lake →
There are plenty of animal-themed coloring books in Lake, but Wild Life by Mr. Lemonade stands out to me. Instead of the typical cute animal portraits, Mr. Lemonade shows animal faces in all their expressions - curious, fierce, and yes, adorable too. That's what the real animal world is like. The symmetry in the illustrations is striking, and the variety of animals is excellent. I've been a fan of Mr. Lemonade's work for a long time, and this book is a great place to start if you haven't explored his art yet.

Natural Paradise by Camila Nogueira Open in Lake →
Sometimes the time and care you put into coloring really pays off. Camila Nogueira's Natural Paradise is a book that rewards patience. It's filled with richly detailed illustrations of breathtaking natural places - lush gardens, tropical landscapes, and serene waterscapes. The pages have more detail than most, so they take a little longer to finish, but the result is worth every minute. It's the kind of book that reminds you of the extraordinary beauty our planet holds. We truly do live in a paradise - if we take the time to notice.

Birth Flowers by Sandra Pires Martins Open in Lake →
Did you know that every month of the year has its own flower? Birth flowers are specific blooms assigned to each month, symbolizing personality traits, seasonal beauty, and symbolic meanings - similar to birthstones. For example, violets are the birth flower of February (that's my month!), and they symbolize faithfulness, humility, and young love. Sandra Pires Martins illustrated all 12 birth flowers for the 12 months of the year, each one with her signature delicate and elegant style. I encourage you to look up your birth month, find your flower, and color it in a way that feels uniquely yours.

Mindful in Nature by Sarah Holliday Open in Lake →
There's a reason people say that looking at the color green relaxes your mind. Being in nature - even just gazing at a forest or a field of grass - has a powerful effect on our mental well-being. It's one of the simplest ways to destress from the noise of daily life. Sarah Holliday's Mindful in Nature captures this feeling perfectly. The book portrays people immersed in natural settings, and a wonderful one to reach for when you need a moment of calm. It's a gentle reminder that nature isn't just something to admire from afar - it's something to step into, breathe in, and let heal you.
